Dr. Carolyn Dean, MD, ND, author of Magnesium Miracle, says that there are many reasons we are deficient including diets that lack high magnesium foods and the mineral depleted soil in which we grow our food. Magnesium is required for the proper growth and maintenance of bones and the proper functioning of nerves, muscles, and many other parts of the body.
